Pick ‘n’ Mix Spelling is designed to supplement work on spelling and develop vocabulary in KS2 using fun and entertaining tactics!







Here’s how it works:



1. Using the teacher’s sheet, the first sheet in each set of three, write the scrambled word on the board or use the interactive whiteboard lesson version. Next, orally explore the words that can be made together with the students.



2. The second sheet in each set of three is for the students to write down the words they have found. For more able students encourage them to group words either alphabetically or by tense. Students can also write on the interactive whiteboard version of the lesson.



3. The third sheet in each set of three is the scrambled word letter slips. These should be cut up so that students can physically move the letters around to form words. These slips can also be taken home for students to practise with.

On each teacher’s sheet there are some suggestions of spelling patterns to look out for and space to write in additional words that are made in your lessons. Create more Pick ‘n’ Mix words yourself using the editable blank pages.







Each project has a teacher’s sheet, student’s sheet, letter strip and Interactive Whiteboard version of the lesson allowing teachers to tailor the way the resource is used to suit their own requirements. This CD includes 40 Interactive Whiteboard Lessons and 120 Photocopiable Worksheets.
